My family and I recently spent Memorial Day afternoon at the beautiful Strawtown Koteewi Park. I’d driven by occasionally but had never taken the time to stop. I’m sorry that it took us so long to do so!
This beautiful natural park is so full of history. The Natural History Center is an amazing hands-on experience that fascinated our entire family. The center houses a wonderful collection of artifacts found on the land, dating back to 1200-1400 A.D. Our daughter especially enjoyed learning about animal pelts and how they were traded for other goods.
If history doesn’t interest you, this 750-acre park also includes a canoe launch on the White River for boating and fishing, nature trails for hiking or cycling, equestrian trails for riding, and wetlands and prairies for enjoying the park’s natural beauty.
